SVA Library Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon 2018

SVA Library Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon 2018

The School of Visual Arts Library is hosting an Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon!

What is an Edit-a-thon?

An Edit-a-thon is a community organized event that aims to teach folks how to edit, update, and add articles on Wikipedia.

Less than 10% of contributors to Wikipedia identify as female.

Our main purpose is to contribute and amend meaningful content to the Wikipedia. We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to participate.

We will hold two training sessions at 1pm and 3pm to teach the basics of editing Wikipedia. Some drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Please bring a laptop if you are able. There will be a limited number of computers for use if you don't have a laptop.

If possible, please create a Wikipedia account prior to the edit-a-thon: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:CreateAccount
